Privacy policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

What this covers

Pulstract lets people find and book fitness classes, and lets trainers and gyms publish them. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to the Pulstract website and to both mobile apps.

What we collect

Only what the service needs to work:

  • Your email address and name, which you give us when you create an account.
  • Your mobile number, used to send the code that signs you in. Sign-in is passwordless, so the number is how we know it is you.
  • Your bookings, and the payments attached to them.
  • Anything you choose to add to your profile — a short bio and a photo.
  • Reviews you write.
  • If you host: your public trainer or venue profile, including its name, description, photo and the city or address you publish.
  • Basic usage events, so we can tell which classes are being viewed and booked.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your device's location. Distances shown in the apps are approximate and derived from the city on a listing, not from where you are.

We never receive or store your card details. Those go directly to Stripe, our payment processor, and we see only the outcome of a payment and the last four digits of a saved card.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of services to run Pulstract. Each receives only what it needs:

  • Amazon Web Services — hosting, sign-in, and the AI that summarises reviews.
  • Stripe — payments and payouts. Card details go to Stripe, not to us.
  • Twilio — sends your sign-in code by SMS.
  • Where a host runs a class you book, that host sees your name so they know who is attending.

How long we keep it

Your account data stays while your account exists. When you delete your account we remove everything that identifies you — your email, name, profile, saved classes and notification settings — immediately.

Bookings and payments are kept, with your name and email removed from them, because they are financial records we are required to retain. Reviews you wrote stay too, no longer attributed to you, because they are about the host and other people rely on them.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app or from your account settings on the website. It takes effect straight away and cannot be undone.

If you host classes, we will ask you to close or hand over your venue first, and to cash out anything we owe you — deleting an account with a live venue would cancel other people's bookings.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will respond within a month.

If you are in the UK or EU you can also complain to your data protection regulator.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you rather than quietly updating the date at the top.
